GLITTERY CHOCOLATE BARS
•Posted on December 27 2017
Glittery chocolate bars are JUST SO FUN to make, eat, or just look at!
To make your own glittery chocolate bars first take your various dusts and edible glitters and sprinkle them right into your chocolate mold. We used a really teeny tiny spoon for some to get more saturated spots of glitter, then used the dust pump with others for a lighter dusting of glitter.
To melt your candy melts place in a heat proof bowl and microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Melt for an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until melted. Do NOT overheat. Once your candy melts are melted, spoon them into disposable decorating bags. Twist your piping bag closed, snip the tip, and you're ready to go!
For this project we used pink and candy melts, and also our candy coloring to achieve a lavender color. You will want both colors of candy melts to be ready to pipe at the same time.
Pipe the candy melts into your mold, alternating between colors to achieve a marbleized look. To blend the colors a bit you can use the back of a spoon to smooth. Try not to over mix with your spoon, you don't want to disturb your glitter too much.
Once the molds are full you will want to gently tap the molds onto a hard surface to help bring any air bubbles out to the back of the bars.
Place in the fridge for the quickest finish but keep an eye on them, 5 minutes is sometimes all it takes! You will know they are set when you can see a slight gap between the mold and the candy melt around the edges.
PRO TIP: for an extra glittery look spritz a little extra glitter onto your bars with your dust pump.
